5 Fall Fashion Must Have’s
Yep, this is a little off the beaten path, but when I came across this contest, I just couldn’t say no! What contest, you ask? The one from What Not To Wear, of course!

What Not To Wear has teamed up with ShopSmartLookFab.com, TwitterMoms, and General Growth Properties to give away a $25 mall gift card to 50 lucky bloggers. Want in? Just visit Twitter Moms and write your post!
So, on with my must haves for fall…
- A good scarf. Really, it just doesn’t seem like fall if I don’t have a great scarf. Fortunately scarves have made a huge comeback and there is a huge varety of styles out there to choose from. I’m loving the large pashmina’s that are everywhere (some as low as $5!) but I still keep coming back to my funky wool and paper scarf. Paper?!?!? Yep! The yarn was called Papyrus and has wool mixed with cotton thread and little paper fiber pieces. I always get comments on it and it’s snuggly warm and fabulous.
- A new handbag. Not that we need a reason to get a new bag, but hey, Autumn is a great one! Personally I love any reason to embrace the warm colors of fall – gold and rust, cranberry, deep green and chocolate brown. These are the colors I love and this is the season that is all about them! A couple of years ago I started September with a very “teacher-y” handbag – brown background with orange, pink and cream apples and pears on it. Sounds odd, but it was just so cute!
- Boots. Ankle, knee high or somewhere in between, this is the season that they start coming out and I am sooo glad. While I am always on the lookout for the perfect pair of boots, I’m happily trying a few different styles until I can find that one pair. What would my perfect pair look like? Knee high with a 3″ chunky heel. Smooth leather and most likely in a deep brown. Black boots rock too though, so I think we should all get both!
- A plaid skirt. Plaid just seems like fall to me, and I’m not sure why. Perhaps it was the years of back-to-school shopping as a kid when I had the plaid skirt and matching sweater combo in a variety of colors – who knows! Plaids just seem “right” in fall. Long, short or in-between, plaid is fab – and it’s coming back into style in a big way this season! Doin’ a happy dance over here!
- The Perfect Top. Well, with a new skirt, boots handbag and scarf, you need something to wear with them, right? My perfect top would be in bright white. A nice heavy-yet-soft fabric with a v-neck. Somewhat formal looking, but with something flirty about it. You know, like the one I bought for M this year (and she consequently will NOT wear! Kids!) Well, either that or something in a nice, warm, chocolat-y brown. I do love chocolate brown…
So, those are my picks for Fall Must Have’s. Now if I just had the funds to complete the outfit I’d be in good shape! Here’s hoping…

Smooth And Sexy…
Yeah, I thought that might grab your attention… What could I be talking about that is smooth and sexy? Why legs, of course! Legs that have been cooped up in jeans and long skirts for far too many months and are aching to get out and enjoy some sunshine!
Well, while we did have sunshine today, it was a kinda rare thing in these parts… we still have a few months of rain to look forward to before Summer officially arrives, but I know that some of you are already enjoying Spring, and your legs want to be beautiful to enjoy it!
Yes, I’m going to tell you about a new product that you just might fall in love with…
it’s called “Smooth Away” and it’s a replacement for your trusty (but hopefully not rusty) razor. Really
So what is Smooth Away anyway? Well, it’s a system that uses 2 paddles (one fits on your finger, the other on your hand) and micro-crystalline pads that gently remove hair and exfoliates at the same time!
Basically, you attach the pad to the paddle (it’s kind of rubbery) and gently rub your legs in a clockwise motion, then a counter clockwise motion and the is gone. The finger-size works well for facial hair, fingers, toes, ankles, etc. THe large paddle works well for arms and legs – larger areas.
Yes, you feel like you are sanding away your unwanted hair with an extremely fine-grained sandpaper. But it really does work! And if you are one of those women who just has a hard time getting along with a razor, this may be your perfect solution! No more kicks, cuts or razor burn. And I can guarantee that it is MUCH less painful that waxing! In fact, it doesn’t hurt at all.
So, where can you find this great new product? Most any drug store carries it – CVS, Rite Aid, Sally Beauty, Walgreens, etc – or you can order it online at GetSmoothAway.com.
Yes, it takes a little bit longer than shaving, but it also leaves your legs nice and soft. They also have a Hair Inhibitor Moisturizer that you use after using Smooth Away to moisturize your skin, and keep your hair from growing back as quickly. Did I mention that it smells a little like coconut? Its like a visit to the tropics! Who cares if we can’t enjoy real sunshine yet – we can smell like we are!
Go check it out – no more razors, no more wax, no more expensive laser treatments! Just soft, smooth, sexy legs. Just in time for Spring and Summer!
