Computer Rant

Please excuse this short rant, but after 2 weeks of fighting with sites that are NOT Mac/Safari friendly, I’m just getting fed up!

Obviously, I have a Mac - which I absolutely LOVE, thank you very much! HOWEVER… as less than 10% of computer users are using a computer worth buying, the rest of the world seems to think that their websites and programs don’t need to make sure that this small number of computer users can use the products that they are offering!

THIS IS SO VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!

Just because I don’t want to deal with all of the virus crap and the *issues* that windows has is not a reason to be left out!

All this to make a small plea - software designers, website designers, anyone having anything to do with designing products available over the web, please, please, PLEASE learn that the number of Mac users is growing daily! Just because our computers work better than yours is not a reason to exclude us!

Thank you, I feel better now ;~)

Have a fabulous day! The rain has stopped, and the sun is shining for a brief moment, so I need to go plant my sweet peas!  Oh, nevermind, the sun is gone.  :(
I guess I need to go sew instead!

Later…

iPod Shuffle

It seems that everyone and their Grandmother has an iPod strapped to them these days… and with good reason!
I picked up a Refurbished iPod shuffle 512MB for my husband for Christmas, and I think I have officially lost him to “Musicland” for the rest of the year! I guess that’s what I get for giving it to him early.

These little bits of plastic are a great gift for those who travel, workout, or just like to listen to their favorite tunes or podcasts! By going with a refurbished iPod, you can save a bit of cash to Create your own playlist for only 99¢ a song!

Yes, iTunes is a great stocking stuffer to go with the iPod they are getting… you can find almost any song you are looking for - even some really obscure stuff. Add the vast song library to the free iTunes program and you have a great built-in jukebox on your computer ready to be taken on the road in your iPod!

While you are cruising the Apple Store, check out the AirPort Express to hook your computer to your sterio & play all of those downloaded songs through your sterio - it works great! It has ports for your internet, printer and sterio speakers, and allow all three to work remote from your computer. Just plug it into the wall & plug the others into it - ah, the beauty of wireless!

In case you are wondering, we are not an exclusively Apple family - I have a MacBook and my husband has a Dell, and they both work great with the AirPort (for internet, printing remote & the sterio).

So, if you are looking to give the gift of music, an iPod is the way to go!

Merry Christmas!

MacBook

Do you have a student in the house (or leaving it) that needs to have a lightweight laptop to take with them to class? So you want to get them something that will last?

Apple is known for making a computer that will stand the test of time - and viruses - and with the new Intel DuoCore hardrives you can run BOTH windows and MacOSX on your Mac!

I recently got one of these (after my PC crashed oh, five too many times!) and I have to say… I LOVE it! I am totally sold on my Mac! I am currently running boot camp on it, however I am planning to install Parallels Desktop so I can switch back & forth with just 1 keystroke… beauty!

With the built-in iSight camera, the kids can talk to Grandma for free (via skype) and look at her while they talk, and it also comes with iTunes built in… did someone say music? We added an AirPort Express for wireless internet, printing & we can run the tunes through our home sterio.

This is a great gift for anyone that needs portability and a powerful processor in a sleek package.

They are available in a range of screen sizes too… take a look below!

MacBook 13-inch - 2.0GHz SuperDrive with Intel Core 2 Duo - White

MacBook Pro 15-inch - 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

MacBook Pro 17-inch - 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

As I have heard it said before… Once you go Mac, you never go back!
I think I’m in Love!
